Android does not back up camera photos to OneDrive storage. The camera backup of OneDrive Not Working on Android can be fixed with this simple guide. Microsoft offers one among the most popular cloud storage solutions called OneDrive. When you turn on Photo Backup on your OneDrive app on Android, camera photos and videos are backed up to OneDrive by default. If camera photos are not backed up on the OneDrive app, here are some great solutions to fix the OneDrive camera backup not working on Android.
How to Fix OneDrive Camera Backup Not Working on Android
- Restart the phone.
- Check your internet connectivity.
- Update the app from Play Store.
1. Check OneDrive Backup Settings
For backup settings allowing photos from camera to disk via OneDrive Android app, there are a few options. You should make sure that your settings are set to your preference i.e. you could upload camera pictures by wifi alone or both wifi and mobile. There are also other options for verifying photographic as well as video materials on the camera.
- Under Camera Downloads, you have the option to download media via WiFi and WiFi or mobile data only. If you set the option for WiFi only, the camera will download media when your Android is connected to WiFi only and if you select WiFi & Mobile, the media will be backed up when you use mobile data or WiFi will be connected to the network.
- You can also enable the backup process only while charging, the download will only work if your device is connected for charging.
- If camera videos haven’t been uploaded to OneDrive, you might have excluded videos from the backup. If you want to back up videos, turn on the toggle to include videos as well.
2. Disable Data Saver and Restrict Background Apps
The backup process runs in the background, so enabling a data saver or background app restriction may block the backup process. So, if you want to download Camera Mount, make sure to give unlimited access to the OneDrive app.
Steps to Disable Data Saver
- Open Android Settings.
- Click on Network & Wi-Fi and open SIM & networks.
- Here, click on Data Saver and disable the toggle.
Steps to Disable Background Data Restriction
- Long press and hold the OneDrive app and click App info.
- Click here on Mobile data and Wi-Fi.
- Here, enable background data, this will provide full internet access to OneDrive. You can enable unlimited data usage to save photos even when Data Saver is on.
3. Clear OneDrive Cache
The last option is to clear the cache of the OneDrive app. Android collects app data in the form of cache and data, which can force the app to quit or crash. It’s best to clear the cache of the OneDrive app on Android.
- Open OneDrive App Settings.
- Click on Storage and Cache.
- Clear the cache, the problem should be fixed, if it’s not fixed as well, clear the data. Erasing data won’t delete your OneDrive files, only Android app data and settings information.
